Olá!

O objetivo dessa página é orientar usuários iniciantes do Ubuntu que desejam instalar e configurar o Ubuntu utilizando ao máximo o modo gráfico. Caso o uso do ambiente gráfico não for possível, as orientações buscam ser o mais simples possível, sempre voltadas aos iniciantes do Ubuntu. A versão utilizada do Ubuntu é sempre mais atual e estável de 64 bits.

How to recover a high capacity usb flash drive / Como recuperar os arquivos de um pendrive de alta capacidade

How to recover a high capacity usb flash drive, with a hundred of files and totally unreadable in a GNU/Linux system. 

The testdisk tool works fine. It is can get in the Debian/ubuntu/LinuxMint repository. Type, as a root user, the following command to install:

Add the universal repository

sudo add-apt-repository "deb http://archive.ubuntu.com/ubuntu $(lsb_release -sc) universe"
 
and 
 
sudo add-apt-repository "deb http://archive.ubuntu.com/ubuntu $(lsb_release -sc) main universe restricted multiverse"
 
and  
 
 
sudo add-apt-repository "deb http://archive.canonical.com/ubuntu $(lsb_release -sc) partner"

  # sudo apt-get install testdisk

Once upon the tool has been installed, just execute as root:


  # testdisk

So, the initial screen appears, with informations and an action main menu:

  TestDisk is free data recovery software designed to help recover lost
  partitions and/or make non-booting disks bootable again when these symptoms
  are caused by faulty software, certain types of viruses or human error.

  review. If you choose to create the text file, testdisk.log , it
  will contain TestDisk options, technical information and various
  outputs; including any folder/file names TestDisk was used to find and

Let the first option (Create) to run. To do it, type

  Select a media (use Arrow keys, then press Enter):
  >Disk /dev/sda - 500 GB / 465 GiB - ST500DM002-1BD142
   Disk /dev/sdb - 32 GB / 29 GiB - SanDisk Cruzer Blade
  
  Note: Disk capacity must be correctly detected for a successful recovery.
  If a disk listed above has incorrect size, check HD jumper settings, BIOS
  detection, and install the latest OS patches and disk drivers.

  or partitions off dead flash drives, usually fried by Windows, or any hard drive
  or removable media 
 
This screen shows the options to make the recovering actions. In this case,
the better one is the second option, to verify the flash drive:

  Note: Do NOT select 'None' for media with only a single partition. It's very
  rare for a drive to be 'Non-partitioned'.
 
So, choose the partition type, marked as default. Type to proceed.

   [ Delete   ] Delete all data in the partition table
   [ Quit     ] Return to disk selection
  
  Note: Correct disk geometry is required for a successful recovery. 'Analyse'
  process may give some warnings if it thinks the logical geometry is mismatched.
 
The diagnosis is a unreadable flashdrive. So, select the first option, Analyse.

Como recuperar um pendrive de alta capacidade, com centenas de arquivos, e totalmente irreconhecível no  sistema GNU/Linux.
O utilitário testdisk funciona bem.O aplicativo faz parte do repositório Debian/Ubuntu/LinuxMint. Para instalar digite, como root, o seguinte comando:
  # apt-get install testdisk
Uma vez que o software tenha sido instalado, basta executar, como root, o comando abaixo:
  # testdisk
Aparecerá então a tela inicial do programa, com informações e um menu inicial de ações:

Nesta tela temos os dispositivos para os quais poderemos efetuar ações de recuperação. Neste caso, a minha opção é por realizar uma verificação do pendrive, a segunda opção disponível.
